Schools Broadband Awarded Hampshire Future Network for Schools (FN4S) Contract

Schools Broadband Awarded Hampshire Future Network for Schools (FN4S) Contract for Educational Establishments.

Schools Broadband has been awarded a framework contract by Hampshire County Council to supply Managed Internet Access Services for Schools, Academies and Educational Establishments in Hampshire. The framework agreement term is for four years. It replaces the current HPSN2 framework which is due to expire on 31st December 2022.

Under the framework, Schools Broadband will offer Wide Area Networks (WAN) using Virtual Private Networks (VPN) to allow for secure site-to-site connectivity between schools and Hampshire County Council. Remote access services will also be available for staff working on the go. In addition, Schools Broadband will offer cloud-hosted firewalling and enhanced security, together with hosted web filtering, reporting and online-safeguarding services.

The successful bid from Schools Broadband combines our own cloud-based infrastructure with world-leading security and web filtering technology. It is this that allows us to deliver award winning security at an affordable price to Hampshire schools and Multi Academy Trusts. Schools Broadband retains an enviable track-record in protecting school networks, having achieved Best Cloud and Security service accolades five times by the Internet Service Providers Association (ISPA) in the last seven years.

The Schools Broadband web filtering and safeguarding services meet with the recently updated Department for Education, ‘Prevent Duty’ and ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ (KCSIE) guidance. The easy-to-use web filtering service, with proactive safeguarding alerts, protects vulnerable students from harmful content. Crucially for schools and particularly for Multi Academy Trusts, services can be controlled centrally for multi-site schools or on-site as required.

David Tindall, Chief Executive Officer of Talk Straight says:
“As a market leader in delivering Wide Area Networks (WAN), Internet, e-safety and security solutions to the education sector, we’re delighted to be working with Hampshire Council to deliver FN4S.

“Hampshire will be another council joining the many already using our award-winning education specific platform.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer world-leading services to Hampshire Schools at an affordable price.”

Under the new framework, schools can order directly from the Schools Broadband online service catalogue: www.talk-straight.com/hampshire-fn4s . Schools will also have access to support services delivered by Schools Broadband.
